Elite Competition Teams

Elevate your dance education with elite competition troupes

Dance competitions provide a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about the art of performing and stagecraft, experience working as a team, build resilience and increase skills. We love giving our students the opportunity to perform onstage alongside other dance schools and receive feedback from leading industry professionals, but we know competitions are not for everyone, so, we are very excited to announce that in 2026 we are introducing competition teams to our junior school!

In addition to their usual technique classes, dancers (starting from 8 years) will have the option to add one or multiple elite competition classes. To ensure we are always putting our best work forward when we attend competitions, all elite team dancers must meet the minimum class requirements for each style (details below). Students will also be expected to maintain at least an 80% attendance rate in all classes. This ensures students representing CWDC at competitions have the necessary technique and skills to compete. Elite competition classes will run for 15 minutes either before or after the technique class for that age and style.

Children learn to handle nerves, mistakes, and outcomes—whether they win or not—and bounce back stronger.
