Technique Classes in a wide range of styles

Our technical classes start from 5 years old, and allow our students to develop a thorough understanding of correct and safe dance technique.

Across our wide range of classes offered in multiple styles, students will learn the tools necessary to succeed in the world of performing arts.

Students enrolled in ballet classes will be invited to participate in either internal assessments, or external Cecchetti exams, giving students an opportunity to receive feedback from some of the best ballet examiners in Australia.

Students are also invited to participate in two concerts throughout the year, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents to their friends and family.

Our Classes

Cecchetti Ballet

CWDC is an accredited Cecchetti Ballet school, dedicated to upholding the cherished principles of the esteemed master instructor, Enrico Cecchetti. The Cecchetti Ballet syllabus provides premier dance training to aspiring dancers, teaching them purpose, artistry, and versatility. CWDC offers Cecchetti ballet classes from Primary/Grade 1, all the way through to Advanced 2.

Pointe

Following the Cecchetti syllabus, our pre-pointe and pointe program gives our students the strength and coordination needed to develop safe and beautiful pointework. With small class sizes and multiple teachers, we prioritise the safety of our students, developing their strength at the barre before they step into the centre.

Jazz/Contemporary

Our jazz and contemporary classes are combined into one class to expose students to a wider range of dance styles at a lower cost to parents. Our students love the variety they experience in these classes. Students enrolled in our jazz and contemporary classes will be exposed to a blend of techniques and styles, to develop increased flexibility, style, expression and performance skills, while learning a wide range of kicks, turns, jumps and rolls.

Tap

We absolutely love tap at CWDC! Tap classes provide students with an opportunity to really strengthen their sense of musicality, being exposed to complex beats and rhythms while they dance. Tap classes also greatly strengthen a dancer's legs and feet, which will aid them in all styles of dance. Plus, tap classes are just so much fun!

Our mini concert, typically held in August, allows students to experience being onstage in a casual and relaxed environment. Students will perform some class work and a small dance onstage, with their teacher present.

Our end of year concert is a performing arts extravaganza featuring costumes, makeup, bright lights, and detailed stage sets. With students from every class working together to produce an incredible show, this is an event you don't want to miss.

With many of our 2025 examination students receiving marks in the top 10% of the state, you can be sure your child's dance education is in the best hands
